Department Overview:

The Marketing and Strategic Communications unit is the full-service, in-house marketing and communications agency of the Wisconsin School of Business. MSC offers expertise in communication strategy, marketing, brand identity, marketing research, editorial content, web development, user experience, digital accessibility, public relations, social media, design, and photography.

MSC has been recognized by the American Advertising Federation with eleven ADDY awards.

10-15 hours

Schedule:

Flexible hours between Monday – Friday; partially remote with in-person hours expected on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

$13.00/hr

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a current student majoring in communications, journalism, or marketing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong skills in writing, editing, and social media. Candidate should possess working knowledge of social media metrics and data analysis, as well as acumen for using social media for business/professional purposes. Experience with WordPress, Sprout Social, and Adobe Express is a plus. Must demonstrate high level of responsibility and reliability, have great attention to detail, be able to work with minimal supervision, and conduct oneself in a professional manner.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Primary duties include:
Social Media: Assist with monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on audience engagement and related metrics across social media outlets—X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube; source and identify content for social sharing; draft social media posts; assist YouTube video team in creating content
Website Publishing: Input digital copy and images into WordPress for publishing on WSB website; review and proof online articles before publishing
• Public Relations Strategy: Support public relations initiatives by conducting research to support PR planning, drafting and proofing PR content, fact-checking, and performing research and market analysis activities
• Other Communications: Perform other communications duties on an as-needed basis
