Overview

The marketing department is looking to add a Social Content Creator/Coordinator to the permanent team. This role requires the individual to design original content and post them on social media. The social content creator must have efficient graphic design skills and a robust understanding of core animation and motion graphics principles. Additionally, this person must have a strong grasp of social media best practices.​

To be successful at this job, one needs to be creative, motivated, and knowledgeable about social marketing techniques. It goes beyond being computer literate and design-savvy to having a high level of organization and solid social media competency to match such skills. We are looking for someone who is curious and eager to propose/realize new ideas that positively impact the brand goals.​

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Social media video production: Creates, edits, and posts video content (e.g., reels, TikToks, YouTube videos, etc.,) to boost engagement and reach​
  • DR Media Content Creation: Lower funnel media tactics that align with demographic consumer concerns and translate into binds​
  • Content Coordination: Works with senior leadership to develop and curate relevant, high-quality content that aligns with the brand's voice and goals​
  • Consistent brand presence: Ensures they the brand is consistently represented across all social media platforms​
  • Audience engagement and community management: Helps engage with the audience by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in real-time, fostering customer relationships​
  • Trend monitoring: Keeps up with the latest social media trends, tools, and algorithms to keep the business competitive​
  • Video content optimization: Coordinates with SEO partners to optimize video content for each platform, including the use of hashtags, captions, and tags to increase visibility​

The social content creator would contribute by:

  • Creating and scheduling content for social that drives brand goals and keeps Mercury on the leading edge of the competitive set​
  • Having a robust understanding of core animation principles, such as timing and spacing, make motion look natural and attractive in different types of animations, etc..​
  • Interrogating reporting data observations from team members to optimize future assets/campaigns, and develop a deep understanding of performance metrics​
  • Utilizing social trends, and a keen sense of the Mercury demographic interests to create the most compelling assets possible​

 

 

Qualifications

Education

 

Minimum: BA+

Preferred: Post-secondary in Videography & Photography or equivalent experience (Diploma or Degree)

 

Experience

2-4+ years of experience agency or brand experience, creating social content, editing videos/assets, utilizing requisite apps (Final cut pro, Adobe premiere, etc.). Must be well-versed in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.), and understand the basics of social media production processes; through publication and reporting.

 

Varied roles/experience in bringing social campaign activations to market is also greatly appreciated because we understand in Social you must wear many hats.

 

Skills & Abilities

Minimum:

  • Proven experience (1-2 years) in graphic design, with a great portfolio showcasing social media designs and motion graphics.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
  • Strong understanding of social media design and the ability to create content that resonates with audiences.
  • Basic animation and video editing skills, especially for creating engaging short-form videos.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • A passion for design, creativity, and staying current with design trends.
  • Deep knowledge/interest in Social Media’s Best Storytelling Practices for Brand Content including creating strong call-to-actions, styles, and emerging trends

 

Preferred:

  • Analytics Comprehension
  • Facebook ad unit creation experience
  • SEO experience
  • Social to Web Design UX Experience
  • Strong understanding of all the moving parts of an effective online marketing campaign

Pay Range

USD $55,318.00 - USD $96,646.00 /Yr. Apply
