Position SummaryUnder the general direction of the Director, Graduate Slate, the Slate Administrator is primarily responsible for administering the university’s Graduate CRM system, Slate by Technolutions, with support from other Core Slate Team members. The position will serve as a primary point of contact for admissions and recruitment staff. The successful candidate will have experience in managing Slate operational activities, including, but not limited to, building and maintaining the Slate system throughout the admission cycle from prospect to enrollee, management of user security, support for applicant and portal/web functions, creation of reports and documentation, and training for users and staff.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Slate System Operations 

  • Provides Slate CRM implementation services and general consulting such as training, functional consulting, troubleshooting, and technical support to a diverse community of schools and divisions at WashU. 

  • Analyzes current business practices and makes recommendations to leverage various technology tools to improve business processes for admissions. 

  • Oversees tasks to ensure system performance and maximizes system efficiency. 

  • Supports, in conjunction with admissions liaisons, daily functions and processes for 6,000+ applications, including student record maintenance. 

  • Assists Director with strategy in crafting, planning, and executing Slate® CRM solutions.

Data Management

  • Assists Director in all data operational activities, including implementation, processes, trainings, and procedures of Slate. Applies technical expertise to support functionality and develops solutions for Slate, including reporting and analysis of system data. 

  • Ensures that data related to prospective students is collected, entered and maintained in a manner that effectively supports student relationship management and increases applicant yield. 

  • Assists in mining relevant data from Slate for use in data-driven decision making. 

Cross-Institutional Collaboration

  • Liaises with internal and external CRM support providers, including admissions departments, WashU IT and Technolutions to test new functionality and upgrades to Slate as well as data security and integrity measures. 

  • Leverages the expertise of admissions staff and Slate Core Team to ensure applicant information at all stages of enrollment funnel is captured and managed strategically and in support of meeting institutional goals. 

  • Supports all Slate needs of the admissions teams, including but not limited to travel, events, application management, admission reading, portal building and decision letters. 

  • Documents system configuration and business processes with the Project Coordinator and provides support and CRM training to staff on an ongoing basis for the professional development of users. 

Platform Optimization

  • Helps maintain and develop Slate-hosted applications and forms and audit forms being developed by the schools/divisions. 

  • Streamlines processes, documents workflows, and finds opportunities for operational efficiencies within and between graduate schools and across the admission lifecycle. For example, create queries to assess critical data points needed. 

  • Maintains best practices and data standards to continually improve processes and outcomes.

Salary Range$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
