Job Description
Site Safety Manager
The Site Safety Manager is responsible for enforcing and recommending safe work practices at the site level. This position focuses on conducting safety inspections, training site teams on safety protocols, and investigating safety incidents. The individual will ensure that all personnel on the job site adhere to company safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the role’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.
Enforce Safe Work Practices: Ensure that all workers and subcontractors on-site are following established safety protocols and procedures.
Collaboration with Site Teams: Works with site teams to anticipate, resolve and manage site conditions for accident prevention.
Conduct Safety Inspections: Perform regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe work conditions, or equipment that does not meet safety standards.
Recommend Improvements: Identify areas for improvement in site safety and make recommendations for corrective actions to site supervisors.
Safety Training: Deliver ongoing safety training sessions and toolbox talks to site personnel, focusing on high-risk activities and relevant hazards.
Investigate Incidents: Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents. Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure those actions are implemented.
Monitor Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and any relevant local or state safety requirements.
Report and Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of all safety-related activities, including inspections, incident reports, and safety training logs.
Emergency Preparedness: Assist in coordinating emergency response plans, including conducting safety drills and ensuring site readiness for emergencies.
Education & Experience
Construction Field Experience: Equivalent to formal education, experience with hands-on knowledge of construction processes, site management, and safety enforcement.
Associate’s degree in occupational safety and health, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
2+ years of experience in construction, construction safety, General Industry, or a related field.
Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required).
First Aid/CPR Certification
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
Ability to enforce safety protocols effectively and confidently.
Strong and professional communication skills in situations that are sometimes confrontational.
Ability to train and educate site teams on safety standards.
Attention to detail in identifying potential hazards and unsafe practices.
Ability to lead and document thorough incident investigations.
Good organizational skills for maintaining safety records.
Ability to work collaboratively with site supervisors, subcontractors, and other project team members.
Computer skills are required.
Work Environment

Work is performed on an active construction site and requires walking on uneven ground, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions.
Travel: This role requires 70-90% travel. Site Safety Managers will work from various locations and will be required to travel including overnight stays at assigned project locations throughout the United States.

The base pay scale for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000 annually depending on a variety of factors including market factors in the geographical location where the candidate works.
