Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Site Construction Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to take your construction experience to the next level and work on complex projects that will have a significant impact on the community. Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Site Construction Manager to join our team and oversee the on-site construction management of major projects supporting a dynamic US government client.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Review and manage Critical Path Management (CPM) schedules for multi-discipline construction projects.
- Inform the project manager and client representative of progress and identify potential schedule delays.
- Develop strategies to resolve scheduling problems.
- Monitor daily construction activities of the general contractor, sub-contractors, and consultants.
- Provide detailed technical reports, including photos, and take necessary action to correct deficiencies.
- Identify areas of potential problems and work closely to communicate and coordinate with the program management office and various stakeholders.
- Ensure contract specifications and plans are implemented accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal codes, regulatory requirements, and engineering and technical standards.
- Continually review engineering and technical specifications of the project to determine accuracy compared to actual on-site conditions.
- Provide contract administration services, including review of submittals, requests for information (RFI), value engineering proposals, and correspondence preparation.
- Prepare periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher-level management and clients, including formal presentations.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience).
- 7+ years of experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, or Project Field Engineer on commercial/industrial type facilities contracts valued in excess of $10 million.
- Extensive knowledge of construction-related processes and industry practices.
- Demonstrated effective managerial capability, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to traverse construction jobsites, including bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, and lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) is desired but not required.
