Singapore Accountant

This is a remote position.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of statutorycompliance, corporate secretarial duties, and accounting responsibilities for our Singapore operations. This role is critical in ensuring BruntWork.co operates seamlessly within the regulatory and financial framework of Singapore. You will also be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to executives, managers, and internal employees, contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Finance
- Prepare, review, and manage full sets of accounts, including financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Handle month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with local and group accounting policies.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and other accounts regularly.
- Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Creation and maintenance of Accounting Schedules that will be used as support to any audits.
- Other adhoc accounting and finance reports as may be required by management
- Ensure timely filing of all statutory documents, including GST returns, annual returns, and tax filings with IRAS.
- Monitor compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and relevant regulatory bodies as required.
- Prepare and maintain all corporate secretarial records, including resolutions, meeting minutes, and other statutory documents.
- File necessary updates with ACRA and ensure compliance with Companies Act requirements.
- Act as the point of contact for company directors and stakeholders regarding corporate compliance matters.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting and corporate secretarial workflows.
- Provide recommendations for cost efficiency and effective financial management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and corporate secretarial work in Singapore.
Strong knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory and tax environment, including ACRA, IRAS, and GST requirements.
Singaporean citizenship or valid work authorization in Singapore, since it will be required to report to office at times.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
Experience in managing statutory and compliance-related matters independently.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with external stakeholders, directors, and cross-functional teams.
Willingness to take on new challenges and learn, even if they have not previously handled the operational setup of an office.
