Services Operations Specialist

The Opportunity:

The Coverage Specialist supports multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave and /or emergency situations occur. The Coverage Specialist responsibilities are within a designated territory although secondary back up responsibility requires travel outside of the designated territory.

In this role, you will report to the Operations Specialist Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Hillsboro/Portland, OR

Shift: First shift (supports second shift and weekend day shift)

Hourly Rate: $25./hr.- $32/hr. + mileage reimbursement

What we’re looking for 

• A high school diploma or GED is required for this position, but having an Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field would be a plus.

• 3-5+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, shipping and receiving, or inside sales is preferred.

• Certifications such as IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG, Forklift, and Hazwoper are also a plus.

• A valid driver's license and transportation are required.

• Experience with VWR/Avantor products and services, as well as cross-referencing and inside sales, is preferred.

• The candidate must be able to travel outside Hillsboro/Portland, Oregon, up to 25% of the time.
