About the Role
Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We’re looking for a Senior Designer at Fivetran where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design strategy, delivering exceptional design work, and leading the design process within cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for aligning design initiatives with the company’s broader business objectives, advocating for design’s value at all levels, and consistently pushing for innovation and excellence in design execution. This role will require close collaboration with stakeholders across marketing, product, and leadership teams, ensuring alignment, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of both customer needs and business goals.
This is a full-time position based out of our Denver or Oakland offices or remotely in the US.
What You'll Do
- Consistently drive alignment between teams and stakeholders, ensuring clarity on project goals and actionable next steps.
- Advocate effectively for your design perspective at all levels, leveraging data, storytelling, and persuasive visual design to bring stakeholders on board.
- Manage conflicts and smooth over challenging projects while pushing for team alignment and maintaining project momentum.
- Articulate design thinking and decisions clearly, in both written and spoken formats, to make complex trade-offs easily understandable for non-designers.
- Navigate and resolve conflicts between user needs and business goals, driving design solutions that balance both perspectives.
- Help teams understand why they are designing a particular product or feature, for whom, and what the key user needs are in complex product moments.
- Regularly advocate for what matters most to the user, ensuring their needs are a top priority in every design decision.
- Proactively seek new insights and customer feedback, continuously refining your understanding of user needs to inform design decisions.
- Actively contribute to and own design strategy and roadmaps for your focus area, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
