ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Impact and Growth is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving and overseeing the credit union’s initiatives aimed at fostering positive social and economic change in the communities it serves. The SVP will lead efforts to align community engagement, market expansion, and financial education programs with the credit union’s mission and values. This role requires strong leadership, relationship-building skills, and a passion for making a tangible difference in the lives of members and the broader community.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Execute the established comprehensive community impact strategy that aligns with the credit union’s mission, values, and business goals, including fostering financial inclusion, community development, and social responsibility.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify the needs and priorities of the communities served by the credit union. Use data and insights to guide community initiatives and ensure they address key challenges and opportunities.
- Support execution of the credit union’s market expansion strategy, identify market segments for growth opportunities. Create actionable plans that include market research, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategies.
- Provide oversight into the operational, financial, and marketing aspects of new market entry.
- Drive local business development efforts that will support growth, member acquisition, and market penetration.
- Assess the competitive landscape and implement strategies to differentiate the credit union’s offerings. Ensure the credit union’s value proposition resonates with target markets while maintaining its cooperative and member-focused ethos.
- Monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of community programs. Provide regular reports to the Chief Impact Officer on the outcomes of community investment efforts.
- Lead the development and delivery of financial literacy programs for members and underserved populations. Work to improve financial awareness and empower individuals to make informed decisions about budgeting, saving, investing, and planning for retirement.
- Lead and mentor a team of community engagement, strategic partnerships, and DEI professionals. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture focused on achieving measurable community impact.
- Provide ongoing professional development and training to team members to enhance their skills in community relations, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Work closely with other senior leaders to ensure that community impact efforts are aligned with business objectives and that members are aware of available programs.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Social Impact, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Ten (10)+ years of experience in community engagement, social impact, corporate social responsibility, or a similar field, with a proven track record of success.
- Eight (8)+ years as a working people manager; Five (5)+years in a senior leadership role, managing teams and overseeing large-scale community programs.
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, particularly in credit unions, and the ability to integrate business goals with community development efforts.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, stakeholders, and the community to achieve shared goals.
- In-depth knowledge of community development, economic empowerment, financial literacy, and social responsibility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with diverse groups, including employees, members, community leaders, and policymakers.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive results on time and within budget.
- Ability to use data to assess the impact of community initiatives, track progress, and report on outcomes.
- A genuine passion for creating positive change and enhancing the economic and social well-being of underserved communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Experience with grantmaking, corporate giving, and nonprofit partnerships.
- Experience in managing large community programs with measurable impact.
- Familiarity with the credit union industry and a strong commitment to the cooperative principles of credit unions.
- Strong network of relationships with local community organizations, non-profits, and civic leaders.
- Experience with digital outreach strategies and leveraging technology to increase program reach and engagement.
Working Conditions:
- This is a hybrid role with work performed remotely as well as in an office and/or branch environment in the Greater Seattle area of Washington State.
- Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
- The nature of work may include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The salary for this role is: $175,000 - $227,000/annually
