Senior Textile Engineer (Natick, MA)

Position Summary
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced textile engineer for our Natick Team supporting a large U.S. Army contract headquartered at Fort Belvoir, VA. Application to this position includes pre-hire assessments in general cognition, technical aptitude, communication, and soft skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply advanced textile theories, concepts, principles, and processes to combat clothing systems
- Assist in the research, design, development, fabrication, test and evaluation and materials integration of complex systems for a variety of Soldier platforms
- Integrate solutions to protect against threats such as environmental, chemical, biological, flame, and threat detection
- Resolve complex problems associated with protection, survivability, and lethality in various environments
- Conduct and coordinate material system investigations and analyses to determine feasibility of advanced technologies, evaluate product development approaches, define design concepts for future programs, and resolve major issues in current projects
- Plan, organize, and coordinate development programs to ensure adherence to technological approaches in the development, integration, and manufacturing of materials and combat and specialized clothing systems meeting stringent functional and environmental requirements
- Review and evaluate system performance against specifications, monitor field performance, and assess risks related to meeting user and specification requirements
- Identify material and end-item deficiencies, propose technological concepts, recommend development programs, and prepare funding estimates and time-phasing requirements for significant improvements
- Initiate engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as needed
- Maintain extensive liaison with other agencies to exchange information on related developments and secure cooperative and transition agreements
- Assist in developing joint programs with industry to facilitate research in manufacturing processes and transition fabrication methodologies for military clothing production
- Manage fiscal resources allocated for RDTE programs and customer projects
- Deliver briefings and prepare reports with interpretations, conclusions, and recommendations
- Maintain active contact with industry, academia, and other organizations involved in related research and development areas
- Review program management documents to ensure accuracy and adequacy of technical content
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and greater than 10 years of relevant experience
- Current SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in textile engineering materials, development, integration, and manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Independent worker and self-starter
- Natick experience strongly preferred
- Current U.S. blue passport and ability to travel (CONUS and OCONUS) up to 10%
- Adherence to program's teleworking policy of camera on and professional attire (smart casual) while working remotely

The projected compensation range for this position is $86250 to $143750 (annualized USD).
