Senior Technology Project Manager

C.H Robinson is seeking a Senior Technology Project Manager on our Infrastructure team who will be responsible for managing and leading large-scale, complex and critical technology projects/epics. The role requires excellent organization, documentation, collaboration and communication skills, as well as the ability to use domain knowledge to solve complex issues. The Senior Technology Project Manager is accountable for developing project plans, facilitating the delivery, and resolving and escalating issues appropriately.Â
This role may be based only in Minnesota, Chicago or Kansas CityÂ
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:Â
- Lead the process of defining and documenting the scope, goals, and deliverables for complex, cross-functional technology projects, that support business objectives in collaboration with management and stakeholdersÂ
- Collaborate with cross-functional managers to provide recommendations and options for how to resource multiple complex projects including people (internal and external), hardware, and software requirementsÂ
- Proactively identify risks and create a plan to mitigate and remove roadblocksÂ
- Own and lead change management activities by collaborating with stakeholders and team to build the change management plan and define change control processÂ
- Proactively identify and engage stakeholders, build effective relationships, and influence outcomesÂ
- Define and manage project budget, metrics, monitor progress, and track project statusÂ
- Measure project progress and define appropriate contingency plan as neededÂ
- Handle communication across all levels of the organizationÂ
- Accountable for the delivery of assigned projects to be on time, within budget, and with the defined scope and quality to ensure stakeholder expectations are metÂ
- Foster teamwork and trust, motivate team members through successful project completionÂ
- Identify process bottlenecks and make changes to improve overall productivityÂ
- May be accountable for establishing the budgetÂ
- Responsible for managing, measuring and reporting on the budget. Proactively escalate any negative budget impacts appropriatelyÂ
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirementsÂ
Required Qualifications:Â
- Â 5+ years of experience managing complex projects spanning cross-functional teamsÂ
- 3+ years of experience working with global technology teams developing custom solutionsÂ
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of technology infrastructure and information security principles, enabling effective communication with technical teams.Â
- Bachelorâs degree or minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience and high school diploma/GEDÂ
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Minimum 3 years of experience delivering projects using agile and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologiesÂ
- Executive level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assess audiences âŚ
