Zayo is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager, customer portal and product operations to be responsible for leading the development and delivery of Zayo's web tools that provide essential functionality to our customers and internal users. Success will result in significantly reduced friction for customers signing up, placing orders and getting support as well as significantly reduced operation expense and effort for internal users. This success also requires collection and reporting on data to show this success.

Day to day the Senior Technical Product Manager will be working with customers and internal cross-functional teams to define requirements, design features, and implement solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UI/UX, API first design, databases and reporting. Understanding how to design a product for various user types will be critical.  Experience in one or more areas of the public cloud ecosystem and network connectivity  (Fiber, IP/IP VPN, Waves, Ethernet)  as well as experience in, software engineering, network engineering and sales is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the customer portal, internal business automation tooling and reporting from data collected from these areas.

  • Drive the vision for the customer portal and internal tooling by developing a clear roadmap with well defined objectives.

  • Scrum Product Owner: ensure requirements are clearly understood by software engineering teams in order to execute on business vision. Partner with stakeholders and fellow product owners in order to ensure smooth go to market of new software releases. SAFE practitioner is a plus.

  • Operational efficiency: drives high-impact organizational and operational efficiency initiatives that improve customer experience, employee engagement & profitability. 

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: partner with leadership to cross-cut existing organizations and deliver high impact processes. Develop growth strategies for areas of responsibility and provide business rationale, suggested priority and risk assessment aligned with Zayo’s business strategy. 

  • Data analysis: gather and analyze large amounts of information expeditiously, developing compelling, insightful recommendations. 

  • Problem Solving: approaches problems in a rational manner using sound strategies that ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution. 

  • Change Management: develops methods for supporting innovation and change across the organization. 

  • Innovation and leadership: provides innovative thought leadership. Drives high impact performance-based culture.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: highly collaborative ensuring alignment with business initiatives, priorities aligned with Zayo’s values.

  • Prioritization and productivity: handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously while appropriately prioritizing long-term projects with urgency of immediate demands.

  • Process Enablement and Communication: write a variety of executive, customer & training presentations and reporting across organizations. Develop and operate forums for effective communication – Chatter Groups, Google Sites, Webinars, releases, agendas.

  • Status Reports: provide real-time and current information on all deliverables, while monitoring and evaluating activity.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering, computer science, management or technical field with minimum of five (5) years of experience.

  • Experience developing and improving UI/UX based on data and metrics.

  • Telecommunications understanding spanning all layers of the OSI model.

  • Experience working within Salesforce and directly with the Salesforce API.

  • Experience with business process automation and automation strategy.

  • Strong understanding of how to balance business objectives from various groups with various strategic and operational expense benefits.

  • Ability to coordinate with many groups including sales, sales engineering and network to ensure software readiness and success rate of automation. 

  • Outstanding organizational skills, highly resourceful and proven project management.

  • Owns a cohesive software implementation plan that directly supports the customer portal end-to-end implementation of products in Zayo’s Digital experience. Including but not limited to project design, assignment, and prioritization.

  • Ability to create justification for projects which includes support via either data analytics or specific use case (ideally both.)

  • Business and technical requirements are clearly and completely identified and reviewed with stakeholders prior to assignment to IT development team scrum master.

  • Proven ability to document highly complex processes, procedures, and/or policies in a network architecture and software development context.

  • Deep understanding of the people and cultural norms that are behind our values, processes & technologies. 

  • Strong analytical business acumen and financial aptitude.

  • Bonus for an active involvement in broader network automation community outside of Zayo including MEF, TMForum and new technology deployments.

  • Proficient in interpreting business and technical requirements and making optimal decisions.

  • High performing, attention to detail and results-oriented.

  • Highly motivated with an eagerness to learn new technologies, be part of a collaborative team, and maintain a transformational and creative mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.

  • Ability to present and communicate with executives utilzing strong storytelling skills.

Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $150,000 USD/annually, commensurate with experience.
