Senior Technical Accountant

Exterro is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Sr. Technical Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with in-depth technical accounting knowledge and a proven ability to apply complex accounting principles to real-world situations. The Sr. Technical Accountant will provide strategic guidance on Technical Accounting matters, ensure compliance and support the Finance team with financial reporting and analysis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Specialist in researching various complex technical accounting pronouncements, including purchase accounting calculations and other ASUs as required.
- Drafts memos to support the company’s position in audit, and creates schedules that can be used in month end close
- Creates Quarterly Compliance Reporting using Corporate financials and lender requirements
- Supports other aspects of corporate accounting as necessary.
- Work with India operations to improve the financial reporting process
Tax
- Manages tax related items (corporate tax) and works with tax preparers to complete tasks required for filing returns, providing information as requested, and assisting with submission of timely filings
- Creates Sales Tax reporting and returns, follows up on state tax notices, reviews compliance with State regulations to ensure compliance
- Manages International Tax considerations including ideal corporate structures, transfer pricing policies, review of international tax returns and VAT filings
Equity Administration
- Manage and respond to various requests from individual investors as well as various investor groups
- Includes tax and administrative support for founders and other key executives
- Serve as liaison between tax providers, outside legal counsel and other third parties
- Maintains the Company’s cap table
- Includes administration of the Company’s Stock-based compensation programs, related valuations (if any) and accounting for such programs
- Filters numerous questions from employees and shareholders
- Calculates and prepares financial statement disclosures for Equity accounts
Corporate Records Review
- Corporate registrations – ensuring compliance with multiple subsidiaries across multiple entities and multiple states
- Maintains the Company’s legal entity organization structure
- Includes serving as liaison between outside legal counsel
- Debt Administration
- Evaluates changes to debt agreements
- Updates memos to file
- Works with CFO to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual debt compliance reports
- M & A
- Reviews agreements and prepares memos documenting key dates and future events
- Monitors, tracks and reports on various milestones
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Professional Accountant & Tax practitioner
• Strong ability to facilitate and manage the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and ensure the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms
• Highly motivated to improve processes and learn best practices
• Ability to conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment
• Career-level professional within field, Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. CPA or MTAX preferred.

The salary range for this remote position is $95,000-$115,000 per year, based on skills, experience and qualifications. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Exterro is a total compensation company, and this role may be eligible for variable pay, equity, bonus and/or other forms of compensation as part of the package. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, flexible paid time off and more.
