The Senior Systems Engineer is pivotal in the design, analysis, configuration, and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, leveraging a deep understanding of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques. This role focuses on software that operates/controls computer hardware and provides a platform for running end-user applications, including operating systems, device drivers, utilities, and software development tools (e.g., assemblers, compilers, etc.). The Senior Systems Engineer will tackle moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities:

  • Support application and infrastructure change fulfillment and escalations during business hours.
  • Contribute to approval actions, fulfill change requests, and execute automation activities.
  • Ensure business continuity is maintained and changes are handled effectively and concisely within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in multiple operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.).
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (3-4 years).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technology (such as VMWare).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with scripting languages or automation (such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell) are a plus.
  • Leadership skills and experience in project management are highly desirable.

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$95,300 - $131,200 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
