Senior Systems Engineer

Overview

CareCentrix is looking for an enthusiastic and personable Senior Linux System Engineer to become a part of our Technology team. This role will concentrate on designing and automating our on-premises and next-generation cloud Linux infrastructure, as well as supporting the DevOps team in automating application deployments. The perfect candidate will be a goal-driven team player, excited to take on challenging projects and dedicated to achieving outstanding result. 

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Configure and troubleshoot application run-time environments across multiple programming languages such as Java, PHP, Ruby, and Python, ensuring that applications function seamlessly in their respective environments by effectively diagnosing and resolving issues that may arise during execution.
• Collaborate effectively with DevOps and development teams to enhance application deployment and performance on servers and Kubernetes environments. 
• Consistently monitor and evaluate Linux and Kubernetes infrastructure metrics to pinpoint areas for enhancement and maximize resource efficiency.
• Routinely apply security and application patches to systems and container images, ensuring that vulnerabilities are mitigated, and software operates effectively.
• Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for Linux Administration tasks and Kubernetes infrastructure and related processes.
• Research emerging tools and technologies that help improve automation, security and performance. 

Qualifications

You should apply if you have:

• 8+ years in Linux System administration/engineering, specifically with a strong emphasis on managing and supporting large-scale production environments using SUSE or Red Hat distributions 
• Enhanced troubleshooting skills within the server OS and Kubernetes.  Solid understanding of TCP/IP, network services, and storage systems also required.
• Expert-level Kubernetes: Proven experience designing and managing on-prem Kubernetes clusters 
• Automation mastery: Advanced skills in Ansible, Jenkins, Python/bash scripting. 
• Strong AWS cloud infrastructure expertise. 
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, or cloud-native monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
