The successful candidate will occupy the role of Infrastructure & Automation Engineer at a dynamic and expanding IT enterprise based in the UK. This role enhances our current Infrastructure Team by augmenting its functions and serves as an essential post within our company, demanding both exceptional technical prowess and superior communication and interpersonal abilities. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in 3rd Line infrastructure support, with proven skills and experience in automation. This person should exhibit a systematic problem-solving strategy, capable of interpreting data to derive practical solutions. The role promises diverse and stimulating responsibilities, engaging with varied personnel and systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Automation of common fixes and repetitive tasks within the available toolsets
- Feed into problem management process to identify and resolve problems
- xx Ensuring that appropriate monitoring is in place for all systems to maintain a high level of reliability for our clients
- Manage and maintain Patching of Workstations and Servers, reporting to clients on a monthly basis
- You will work collaboratively to ensure the smooth running of the organization's operations, including working closely with all operational teams
- Follow processes within the team and between teams to ensure appropriate tasks are actioned, in a timely manner
- Creating and Maintaining technical documentation
- Managing 3rd party providers and holding them to account
- Be an advocate for automation of processes, cascading this approach to the team and mentoring more junior members
- Delivery of a professional and consistent service, internally and to Customers

- Ability to mentor team members and ensure alignment to company values
- Excellent consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, decision making with the ability to work effectively and autonomously across the organisation at all levels.
- Good time management skills and ability to achieve immediate and medium-term goals.
- Good ability to fault find and problem solve under pressure.
Essential criteria
- In depth understanding of Hypervisor environments including VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V in standalone and HA configurations
- Storage platforms such as NetApp, HPE Nimble, Dell Compellent, Pure
- Administration of email security services, with proven knowledge of troubleshooting mail flow issues
- Proficient in PowerShell
- other scripting languages would be beneficial
- Troubleshooting internal and public DNS issues
- Experience of managing Office 365 core services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Comprehensive knowledge of Supported Windows Server Operating Systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot deployment
- Comprehensive knowledge of networking technologies and routing practices
- Troubleshooting network issues (TCP/IP) and identifying points of failure
- Configuring and troubleshooting Firewalls, routers and switches
- Working Knowledge of ITIL
