Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer

As a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Liftoff, you will:

• Own ML models are a part of a production decision-making system that has direct business impact. You will own a part of this system end-to-end, which includes state-of-art ML models and related engineering systems.
  
  
• Adopt or build new technologies for training and serving ML models (e.g. support large models, increase developer velocity, etc)
  
  
• Be a mentoring coach for team members and engineers from other teams.
  
  
• Monitor latest ML research for practical ideas that the team could try.
  
  
• Influence the roadmap for your team and potentially other teams.
  
  

Requirements 

• 10+ years of industry experience applying Machine Learning (including neural networks) to large scale problems.
• Hands on experience with deep neural networks in production at scale.
• Very strong engineering and coding skills.
• Experience with Recommendation Systems
• Ability to work independently on software projects
• Track record of strong execution and timely delivery of projects.
• B.S. or higher in Machine Learning, Math, Physics or similar. PhD a plus.
• Sets ego aside in pursuit of finding the best solution, no matter where it comes from.
• Experience with PyTorch, Spark a plus
• Experience in Ad Tech solid plus.

This role is eligible for full-time remote work in one of our entities: CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NV, OR, PA, RI, TX, UT, and WA. We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and NYC.

Compensation: 

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on candidate location and experience. The following are our base salary ranges for this role: 

SF Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles/Orange County: $290,000 - $315,000
Seattle/Olympia, Austin, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Boston: $265,000 …
