About the team

We are looking for an experienced Lifecycle Marketing Operations Sr. Specialist to help build best-in-class marketing campaigns, new processes and technical capabilities to power efficient execution on Zillow’s owned marketing channels. Our team acts as the primary owners and experts of the B2B marketing email, SMS, push notification and in-app messaging channels. We partner closely with our B2B marketing strategy, data science and technology teams to configure and launch campaigns that drive business objectives, using our expertise in our MarTech tools and audience data to inform requirements and final deliverables. As stewards of the marketing owned channels, we own reporting and ensure our marketing campaigns align to benchmarks for channel and audience health, sharing insights with our marketing partners to influence future strategy. We drive channel enhancements by leading efforts to build new processes and technical capabilities, unlocking new features to test and learn, uplevel our channel messaging abilities, streamline data and maintain operational rigor in our systems.

About the role

This role leans heavily into hands-on-keyboard work, but also requires program management and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across teams. The ideal candidate shines in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, and has experience with translating business needs to technical requirements, campaign execution and marketing operations. You will get to:

  • Partner with marketing strategy teams to recommend campaign configuration in our marketing platforms based on your knowledge of platform capabilities, audience data and marketing requirements. 

  • Build campaigns in our CDP / ESP platforms. Includes creating or updating HTML email templates, audience segments, journey configuration, Q/A testing and owning the final send.

  • Build and monitor reports to track channel and audience health in partnership with our data and marketing technology teams, regularly reviewing how our marketing campaigns align to benchmarks and sharing insights to our marketing strategy partners. Provide recommendations for future campaign strategy based on key trends and findings. 

  • Gain a deep understanding of the B2B data. Use this understanding to define and standardize audiences in our CDP / ESP, highlight and drive opportunities to integrate new data or operationalize processes to better automate our data ingestion.

  • Partner with marketing technologists and engineers to set up new owned channels or new capabilities in existing channels, unlocking innovative capabilities to reach our customers and drive business value.

  • Constantly search for and drive opportunities to improve operational efficiency, with a specific eye toward speed-to-market, data accuracy and channel health.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $88,200.00 - $140,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Lifecycle marketer with an aptitude for the technical. You have experience building best-in-class marketing campaigns in CDP/ESP platforms. 

  • You can translate marketing requirements into technical requirements. You’re able to quickly  understand the business use case and envision how to build the final product in our MarTech platforms.

  • You feel at-home diving into the business data that drives and defines our marketing audiences. You understand the basics of how data can be stored, ingress/egressed from systems and used to define customers. You have experience creating reports and using data to inform and influence.

  • Have a mindset towards operational rigor and efficiencies. You are a creative problem-solver who loves to create, test and iterate on new processes or technical solutions that make our team or channels faster and more organized.

  • You are able to create clarity from ambiguity, and feel comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Highly effective communicator that enables you to earn trust at all levels and engage effectively with marketing and technical stakeholders

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in channel marketing or marketing operations, with hands-on experience creating and owning campaign sends. Email experience is required, SMS / Push Notification / In -App Messaging system experience a bonus.

  • HTML/CSS experience required. SQL a bonus

  • Ability to think critically, be self-motivated, and deal with ambiguity

  • Professional application of agile methodologies (specifically Scrum) is a plus

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and engineering individuals at all levels including the executive level

  • JIRA, Confluence, g suite, and Smartsheet experience preferred
