The Opportunity at Komodo Health:
The Senior Software Engineer will closely collaborate with Data and Product teams to introduce and educate others on best-in-class rigorous methodologies that address domain-specific problems to execute deployed solutions. You will foster a culture of trust, transparency, and technical expertise that is founded on constructive feedback and open evolution in thinking and approaches.
As Senior Software Engineer, you will lead our initiatives to build custom solutions that allow us to fully unlock the potential of our healthcare data map and platform capabilities - joining both together to advance Komodo's full-stack strategy. Your work will be instrumental in creating and implementing algorithms, API’s, and custom features that enable our customer's use cases.

- Managed, coordinated, and delivered on key projects that advanced our ability to bring new Technical and Data Services to market
- Developed a deep understanding of healthcare-specific challenges and introduced innovative algorithms and software techniques that address these
- Built scalable, best-in-class solutions that combine theoretical rigor with implementation efficiency
You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…
- Partnering with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to develop technical requirements, project roadmaps, and delivery of robust solutions
- Actively collaborate with team members to mentor and up-level
- Demonstrating records of thought leadership and solution design that spans from high-level conceptual frameworks to detailed execution plans
What you bring to Komodo Health (required):
- Minimum of 5+ years experience working as a backend software engineer with deep expertise in software and data or related fields in healthcare and technology
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and openly with both technical and non-technical teams
- Knowledge of large-scale data and computational technologies
- Experience with privacy-preserving database solutions
- Proficiency in programming languages - Python or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience in ML Engineering and or operations
Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…
- Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using Python, Spark, Hadoop, etc.
- Experience in designing and developing API, REST services & custom integrations
- Experience with AWS services, e.g. CloudFormation, Lambda, EC2, VPC, S3, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, ECS, EKS, Route53, ELB/ALB

Compensation at Komodo Health
The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of pay that we reasonably expect to pay across all U.S. locations and may span more than one career level. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.
The U.S. national starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses as determined in the Company’s sole discretion and in accordance with a written agreement or plan.$162,000—$253,000 USDWhere You’ll Work
Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
