About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Fable, you’ll work closely with product, design, and other engineers to design, develop, and support enterprise-quality features that support our mission to build more inclusive digital products. As part of a growing company and team, you'll be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle and be encouraged to share your thoughts and ideas along the way.

Requirements
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the full product development lifecycle from ideation to deployment
- Full stack development across our technology ecosystem - Node.js, MongoDB, Express, React, AWS, and more.
- Developing and maintaining accessible front-end features
- Developing and maintaining backend functionality
- Owning, planning, and working with others on the team to implement project-sized pieces of functionality
- Proactively recommending and championing improvements to processes and product
- Mentoring and upskilling others on the team
Key qualifications and assets
- At least 6 years of full-stack engineering experience, developing web applications (full stack development - front-end, back-end, databases, and APIs)
- Previous experience working as a senior full-stack engineer
- Experience with the MERN stack, feature flags, and error management
- Experience using AWS cloud services and building applications to run in the Cloud
- Knowledgeable in the craft of software development, including concepts like automated testing, continuous integration, and design patterns
- Experience with web accessibility at some level
- A self-starter who thrives with minimal oversight, eager to join a startup dedicated to making a positive social impact
- Experience working in a remote agile environment
- Experience building with LMS products is a plus
