YOU
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of industry leading software applications and services for the building industry.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Backend design and development for a software suite focusing on next generation design and management tools for component manufacturers in the wood structure building ecosystem. Development will primarily be in C++ (85%).
- Develop and maintain a wood roof truss analysis tool written in C++.
- Implement and optimize algorithms for structural analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the tool meets industry standards and client requirements.
- Provide technical support, guidance, and training to fellow team members.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain high-quality code and ensure application stability.
Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospectives as part of the Agile Scrum software development lifecycle. (15%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C++ programming.
- Preferred strong knowledge of the stiffness matrix and finite element method (FEM).
- Preferred experience with FEM software, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Preferred experience in the construction industry, particularly with wood structures.
- Familiarity with other programming languages and tools used in structural analysis.
- Working knowledge of development tools such as Visual Studio/VS Code and SQL Management Studio, profiling tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
