Senior Software Engineer

Overview

The Sr. Software Engineer is primarily responsible for the design and development of software applications and reusable software components deployed in the Cotiviti product suite.  You are expected to foster high performing technical teams.  You will be required to collaborate effectively with senior developers, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high quality software modules for the Cotiviti product suite
• Analyze and resolve software related issues originated from internal or external customers
• Analyze requirements and specifications and create detailed designs for implementation.
• Demonstrates proficient working knowledge of the primary discipline and a developing knowledge of related disciplines.
• Executes solutions enhancements to improve performance / availability.
• Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems.
• Explores new ideas and makes innovative contributions to existing processes or systems which improve efficiency and results.
• Continuously update professional knowledge of new technologies as selected and integrated into the Cotiviti product suite
• Execute all appropriate facets of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with a desire for continuous improvement
• Mentor other developers

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or technically related discipline
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Distributed systems.
• Minimum 3 years of experience building Scala/Spark applications on Big Data environments (using the functional programming paradigm).
• Demonstrated expertise building scalable applications and components on Apache Spark.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design principles, performance and applications that scale well.
• Ability to execute project deliverables in a dynamic, fast paced environment within estimated timelines
• Knowledge and application of SAFe agile practices preferred
• Strong organizational and analytical skills          
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Base compensation ranges from $105,000 to $140,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
