Position Title: Senior Software Engineer (DATAAPS)

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 – $125,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RTL Networks considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Status: Full-time / Remote

Required Clearance: Secret

Required Certification(s): Proficiency in JAVA development is required for this position.

Summary:

RTL Networks has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team supporting The Defense Finance Accounting Services (DFAS). The Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) Information & Technology (I&T) is responsible for the provision of information and technology services that support the DISA Automated Time Attendance and Production System (DATAAPS), Headquarters Accounting Reporting System (HQARS), and Wounded in Action (WIA). Each system is separate and mutually exclusive; they do not share components or data flows.

DATAAPS is a web-based time and attendance (T&A) software package owned by DISA that provides customer organizations with access to civilian T&A and accounting production data via a web browser. DATAAPS is primarily developed in Java with a back-end Oracle database. Web servers may be either UNIX or Windows-based.

Primary Responsibilities:

Essential responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for research, design, and development of computer software.
• Under general direction, performs high-level systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of the application software that requires a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.
• Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases.
• Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by the task order.
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of services delivered for particular DATAAPS task(s).

Qualifications:

• Minimum ten years' experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
