The Senior Software Engineer, Communities will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering cutting-edge E-commerce solutions using the Magento 2.x framework and Craft CMS. As a key member of the Scrum team, the engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create scalable, high-quality software solutions. The role involves leading and mentoring a team of developers, ensuring high productivity and adherence to industry best practices. The engineer will design innovative solutions to complex technical challenges, contribute to technical documentation, and engage in code reviews and quality assurance processes. Additionally, the role requires working with the DevOps team to facilitate smooth deployment and maintenance, while staying abreast of the latest industry trends in software development. This position demands advanced expertise in Magento architecture, PHP, Vue.js, and API development, alongside a strong foundation in cloud platforms and microservice architecture.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

•    Software Development and Maintenance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
•    Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor a team of developers to maximize productivity and efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
•    Technical Innovation and Problem Solving: Design and implement innovative solutions to complex technical problems, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
•    Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to ensure the accuracy and completeness of specifications.
•    Quality Assurance and Code Review: Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of software quality and performance.
•    DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and maintenance of applications.
•    Industry Knowledge and Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the software industry to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
•    Other duties as assigned
 

 

YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE/ARE

•    7+ years Magento development
•    7+ years PHP development
•    5+ years CMS development
•    Experience with enterprise-level Magento projects

•    Bachelor’s Degree

•    Magento Architecture: Advanced understanding and application of Magento architecture.
•    Object-Oriented Programming: Advanced proficiency in object-oriented programming principles and practices.
•    PHP and Unit Testing: Advanced proficiency in PHP development and unit testing.
•    Content Management Systems: Advanced proficiency in CMS platforms for building templates and front-end components (Craft preferred).
•    Accessibility Considerations: Experience with accessibility standards and best practices.
•    Mentoring: Ability to mentor and guide junior developers.
•    Cloud Platforms: Intermediate proficiency in at least one cloud platform.
•    Microservice Architecture: Foundational knowledge of microservice architecture.
•    Vue.js and API Development: Advanced proficiency in Vue.js and API development, including GraphQL or similar technologies.
 

 

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU HAVE:

•    Certification: Magento certification
•    Additional Skills: Experience with Twig templates and TypeScript

 

 

Salary Information:

We are targeting a base salary of ~$120,000 - $140,000 annually. Relias considers many factors when making an offer including; established salary range, internal budgets, business need, education and years of applicable work experience possessed by the applicant. Further, salary is only one element of our total compensation and benefits package.
