Our team is responsible for technologies that power Akamai's Security Products and protect the world's largest companies. We're the QA team for security features implemented on Akamai's servers before they're released onto our network.

You'll collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the functionality, performance and stability of our features. The testing strategies you employ will ensure the performance of our market leading, cutting-edge security products.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Taking ownership for testing your products, creating test strategies and delivering high quality software solutions
• Owning the quality of our security products and how they perform on our content delivery platform
• Using software development skills to develop tools, test frameworks and automation of the functional and system tests
• Collaborating with other software engineering teams to influence and shape the design process and product development

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 3-5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent experience
• Have experience in software development using Scripting languages (e.g. Perl or Python) or Object Oriented languages
• Possess knowledge of how the internet works and it's underlying protocols e.g. DNS, HTTP/S, TCP and UDP
• Have working knowledge with Linux or UNIX operating systems
• Have experience in debugging and troubleshooting software
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to write design documentation

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $106,600 - $221,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
