Senior Software Developer – Oracle Developer

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer that will provide Responsible for engaging in all hands-on software development activities, including analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing modifications to Oracle SaaS Cloud HCM and ERP Applications, as well as PaaS Custom Applications developed using Oracle APEX and VBCS. Additionally, provide production support to ensure smooth operation and timely resolution of issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement modifications to Oracle SaaS Cloud HCM and ERP Applications, as well as PaaS Custom Applications developed using Oracle APEX and VBCS.
  • Provide production support during critical process failures and collaborate with vendors, especially Oracle Support, to resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and IT colleagues to define detailed requirements and system interfaces, evaluating the value of vendor-provided software modifications versus custom modules.
  • Research and analyze business problems to improve daily work processes and develop recommended solutions.
  • Work independently and within a team environment as a highly motivated developer.
  • Utilize project management methodologies to provide estimates, status updates, and issue escalation.
  • Assist and mentor junior developers with roadblocks and design decisions by thoroughly understanding the functional requirements.
  • Adapt to change and continuously learn new technologies.
  • Demonstrate strong active listening skills and effective communication, with an openness to diverse input and feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and expertise.
  • Highly motivated Senior Software Developer with the ability to work well independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient in the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development (coding), testing, documentation, and implementation.
  • Skilled in project management methodologies, including providing estimates, status updates, and issue escalation.
  • Capable of performing research and analysis of business problems to assist in improving daily work processes, developing recommended solutions, coding, and testing software applications.
  • Experienced in production support, utilizing various logging and debugging methods.
  • Experiences in assisting and mentoring junior developers with roadblocks and design decisions by thoroughly understanding the functional requirements.
  • Experienced in technical solutioning, eager to explore uncharted technologies, and committed to learning and educating the team on the best solutions to pursue.
  • Willing to dedicate extra time to researching new features added to current and emerging technologies and seeking opportunities to implement them.
  • Effective at working and building relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • Open to change and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong active listening skills and effective communication, with an openness to diverse input and feedback.

Technical Skills

  • Over 12 years of hands-on experience in software development, including creating technical code for reports, integration extracts, fast formulas, and UI extensions.
  • Proficient in backend development using SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Skilled in frontend UI development using Oracle APEX or Oracle Visual Builder.
  • Experienced in developing REST API calls using ORDS and working with Postman or SoapUI.
  • Proficient in report development using Oracle BI-Publisher and OTBI.
  • Skilled in developing Oracle HCM Fast Formula, HCM extracts, and HDL Loader for HCM Developer roles.
  • Skilled in developing Oracle FDBI and BICC capabilities for ERP Developer roles.
  • Experienced in debugging and modifying existing technical components.
  • Proficient in EBS or Cloud HCM or Cloud ERP architecture.
  • Proficient in EBS or Cloud HCM database tables for HCM Developer roles.
  • Proficient in EBS or Cloud ERP database tables for ERP Developer roles.
  • Experience in programming using languages such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and JET is preferred.

The base pay range for this role is $112,200 - $168,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
