WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

For Marsh is seeking a self-motivated, experienced, and innovative team member with a background in social media strategy to work full-time remotely. The Senior Social Strategist will collaborate with social listening analysts, account strategists, paid and earned media, and creative teams to dig deep into audience, platform, and topic-driven insights to develop social media content and platform strategies appropriate for each client’s unique audiences. You will be responsible for the ideation, creation, and implementation of our clients’ social media strategies across a variety of social platforms. We expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends and exhibit a passion for social media, including proficiency with major social media platforms: (Meta) Facebook & Instagram (Reels, Stories), LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube and social media management tools (Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Meltwater).

The Senior Social Strategist will develop and implement social media content strategies for a range of federal clients like the National Eye Institute, Health and Human Services (HHS), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on various issues that impact the public health, infrastructure, and resilience, as well as contributing to business development opportunities for Fors Marsh.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing quality social media content strategy solutions for mostly government client accounts across all major social media platforms.
  • Collaborating with researchers, analysts, strategists, subject matter experts, and creative teams to identify each client's most compelling social media strategies.
  • Monitoring the latest trends in social media channels and technologies in order to provide innovative recommendations on how clients can best leverage new tools and services.
  • Creating content calendars and implementing posting and engagement strategies per client objectives.
  • Managing influencer campaigns and related social engagement and reporting.
  • Developing social media response strategies, including message banks, hashtag recommendations and other content for proactive and reactive engagement needs for sensitive public health and infrastructure topics and on behalf of government clients.
  • Collaborating with social listening team to compile data across several social media platforms and create monthly reports including analysis for insights, optimizations and future strategy development. Understand and deliver the story behind the KPIs to effectively communicate the analytics to clients and answer any questions.
  • Creating recommendations on the content, designs or campaigns to improve effectiveness of social media channels.
  • Demonstrates strategic insight to develop long term execution plans from client’s stated objectives and implement those plans.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills in order to effectively present strategic and tactical plans to clients and internal teams.
  • Possesses well developed analytical ability to extract insight from data and plan next steps across multiple social media mediums.
  • Possesses ability to self-manage while managing assigned teams and projects under tight deadlines.

Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of SEO and Google Analytics web traffic metrics
  • An ability to identify target audience preferences and build content to meet them
  • Familiarity with paid social

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, health communications, marketing, social psychology, data science, computer science, or a related field.
  • At least 10+ years of experience creating social media content, platform and engagement strategies, preferably for federal government clients
  • Experience creating matrixed editorial calendars that complement 360 outreach strategies (paid, earned, owned, events and partnership engagement strategies).
  • Understanding of social listening or analysis of any data derived from social media.
  • Experience with social listening tools like Brandwatch, NetBase Quid, and Meltwater.
  • Strong proficiency and experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills appropriate to the audience, including copy writing, caption development, alignment of written content to campaign strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and quality assurance.

Salary: $89,000 -$110,000
