Reporting to the Director of InfraSecOps, the Senior Security and Compliance Architect will work within the company’s digital water platform teams to establish and achieve software products security & compliance objectives. You will ensure that the platform’s software/SaaS products and supporting infrastructure are compliant with security standards established for those products including ISO 27001 and FedRAMP. You will ensure that the risk associated with constantly emerging cyber threats and security vulnerabilities is minimized by working collaboratively with cross-functional software architects, developers, data scientists, DevOps, SecOps, development managers, product managers, senior leadership, and Veralto Global Security and Privacy teams. You will be the main point of contact for answering Security Questionnaire from current and prospective customers.
This position is part of the Digital Products Development team in Vancouver, Canada, and will be Remote, with optional in-office collaboration.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Design, enhance, and maintain the architecture of several product lines designed for environmental, wastewater, drinking water, and IoT solutions.
Ensure properly architected designs for new product development.
Be the technical leader for a geo-located team of architects and senior software engineers to build scalable and performant solutions for the future.
Work on strategies to converge disparate tech stacks and IoT platforms.
Work with the Security and compliance team to ensure that architecture is aligned with product security, global compliance, and data privacy to meet existing and emerging security standards.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Experience in software architecture and technical leadership roles.
Proven experience working within complex platforms, microservice architecture, and scaling systems across geo-located regions.
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), containerization (Kubernetes), and microservices.
Experience creating, maintaining, and working within large-scale IoT solutions and big data (e.g. ADX, BigQuery).
Experience with Zero downtime and blue-green deployments.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, collaboration, and diagram/documentation skills.
Ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
Ability to create, maintain, and own a Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) roadmap for our product lines and common platforms.
Ability to work directly with product management on prioritization within customer-facing roadmaps.
Ability to work directly with the InfraSecOps team to ensure NFRs are implemented and monitored regularly.
Preferred Skills:
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent education & experience.
At least 3 years of experience in an architect role.
Proficiency in a modern programming language (C#, Java).
Experience with web, SaaS, IoT, and mobile application development.
Experience with AI and ML ops, data privacy, and security.
Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) & Security Standards and Best Practices
Ability to drive technical excellence and innovation.
Experience in environmental and wastewater/drinking water is a plus.
Experience with ISO27001, SOC2, FedRAMP, and GDPR is a plus.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $170,000.00 - $215,000.00 CAD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
