Senior Scientist, Process Chemistry

Job Description
Our Company is seeking exceptional chemists for positions within our Process Chemistry organization located at our Rahway, NJ site. A successful candidate will be joining a vibrant group of innovative scientists with broad deliverables ranging from the design of manufacturing routes for drug candidates to driving innovative solutions to complex chemistry problems in the discovery phase. This involves conducting extensive research and analysis to identify the most effective chemical processes, optimizing reaction conditions, and ensuring the scalability and reproducibility of the processes. In addition, the candidate will be expected to remain current with the latest synthetic methodologies, drive innovation, apply new concepts to continuously improve group capabilities, and be active in the external scientific community via publications and external presentations.
The ideal candidate must possess a Ph.D. in chemistry with experience in methodology/catalysis (including chemocatalysis, biocatalysis, and heterogeneous catalysis), total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, or flow chemistry, along with a proven track record of solving complex problems. The candidate must be highly self-motivated, possess strong experimental skills, have excellent written and oral communication abilities, collaborate effectively on multidisciplinary teams, and be able to demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.
Specific responsibilities will include the following:
Act as an expert in the laboratory, executing on program and chemistry strategy.
Develop innovative solutions to complex chemistry problems across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Education
PhD in Organic or Inorganic Chemistry achieved or expected in 2024/2025
Requirements
Must have conducted outstanding research that may be shared during the interview process.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
High-level leadership and interpersonal skills.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$111,400.00 - $175,300.00Available benefits include bonus eligibility, long term incentive if applicable, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and sick days. A summary of benefits is listed here.
