Senior Scientist, Discovery Process Chemistry
Our Company is seeking exceptional chemists for positions within the Discovery Process Chemistry group at our South San Francisco site. This role offers the opportunity to join a vibrant group of innovative laboratory scientists with broad impacts across our late discovery and early development portfolios. The candidate must be highly self-motivated, possess strong experimental skills, have excellent written and oral communication abilities, collaborate effectively on multidisciplinary teams and across geographies, and be able to demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment. In addition, the candidate will be expected to remain current with the latest synthetic methodologies, drive innovation, apply new concepts to continuously improve group capabilities, and be active in the external scientific community via publications and external presentations.
Specific responsibilities will include the following:
Develop innovative solutions to complex synthetic chemistry problems across a diverse portfolio of projects in the discovery phase.
Enable rapid delivery of target compounds for medicinal chemistry research through cutting-edge methodologies and synthetic route design.
Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Process and Discovery Chemistry networks, as well as across the Discovery and Preclinical functions.
Education
PhD in Organic Chemistry achieved or expected in 2024/2025 OR current Post-Doctorate in Organic Chemistry OR MS in Organic Chemistry with 5+ years of professional experience in the field.
Requirements
Must have conducted outstanding research that may be shared during the interview process.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
High-level leadership and interpersonal skills.
