Position Overview:
We are looking for a scientist to manage peptide drug discovery projects, perform in vitro assay, assay development, protein expression and manage external collaborations to support our drug discovery program and IND-enabling studies. Peptides are at the core of Henry Meds drug discovery initiative, and this position will be crucial to our research efforts to develop novel therapies for metabolic diseases.
The biology group is responsible for assay development, in vitro testing, in vivo study design to advance our drug candidates to clinical phase. As a key member of this team, this Scientist will build the operations and processes needed to deliver the high-quality reagents and data that form the foundation of future innovative treatments. Activities include but are not limited to assay design, in vitro testing, analog design. The role involves close interaction with colleagues in the peptide synthesis and analytical groups. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of accomplishments in laboratory research, excellent communication and time management skills, and the ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Spearhead biology efforts for several drug discovery projects.
- In vitro testing.
- Design of in vivo studies.
- Develop and maintain relations with CRO.
- Development of disease relevant in vitro and ex-vivo models.
- Responsible for protein expression, purification, and protein engineering.
- Assist the peptide synthesis group in designing analogue sets.
- Detailed documentation of laboratory work to enable regulatory submissions and intellectual property protection.
- Coordination of work with formulation development and analytical development specialists.
- Management of timelines and deliverables.
