We are seeking a dynamic Senior Sales Engineer to collaborate with the sales team in positioning the HID’s Authentication portfolio to prospective and existing customers. This role requires a technical expert with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, protocols, standards, and regulations, combined with strong business acumen to translate customer needs into tailored technology solutions.

 

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will lead projects and initiatives within your assigned territory, demonstrating ownership and accountability. Success in this role depends on building lasting relationships with partners and customers through professionalism, domain expertise, and integrity. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively engaging stakeholders at all levels.

As our Senior Sales Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Partnering with sales to position and demonstrate solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Facilitating customer evaluations and proofs of concept through tailored product demonstrations.
  • Providing ongoing technical support during customer calls and communications.
  • Acting as a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to nurture long-term customer relationships.
  • Collaborating with technical counterparts at channel partner companies to align strategies and enhance partner success.
  • Contributing to Solution Marketing by assisting with the creation of datasheets, whitepapers, and case studies.
  • Supporting digital marketing initiatives, such as LinkedIn campaigns, webinars, and virtual outreach.
  • Assisting with the creation of training materials and other resources for HID Academy to equip internal teams and partners with the knowledge they need.
  • Delivering (Advanced) Technical Training to HID Channel Partners, enabling them to develop the required skills to both sell and deploy the HID Authentication portfolio.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on Identity and Access Management solutions, addressing technical objections during procurement.
  • Acting as a "Product Champion" by developing exceptional expertise on a specific solution.
  • Facilitating product samples (e.g., cards, USB keys, OTP tokens) for customer testing.
  • Representing the company at trade shows, conferences, and public speaking engagements to showcase solutions.
  • Taking ownership of and execute on RFPs, RFIs, and technical questionnaires with precision and expertise.
  • Developing and maintaining product documentation, videos, and knowledge-based articles (KBAs).
  • Collaborating with Product Owners to align on customer requirements and market trends.

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computing, physical science, or engineering. Candidates with equivalent education plus relevant industry work experience may also be considered.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical sales.
  • Familiarity with authentication solutions associated with multi-factor authentication (MFA), and single sign-on (SSO).
  • A good and well-founded understanding of regulatory standards such as HIPAA, CJIS, GDPR, SOC 2, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Proven expertise in information security products addressing identity management, authentication, and privacy.
  • Proficiency in authentication mechanisms, cryptography, network security, smart cards.
  • Expert Proficiency with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience with MFA applications such as DigitalPersona.
  • Expertise or willingness to master industry PKI standards such as X.509, PKCS#11.
  • Strong knowledge of Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and its role in identity strategies.
  • Strong understanding of system and network components, including OS, LDAP, and protocols (SSL/TLS, VPN, RADIUS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, Oracle databases, REST/SOAP APIs, and SDKs.
  • Strong knowledge federated protocols such as SAML2, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, WS-Federation, SCIM, etc.
  • Knowledge of integration with third-party systems via Restful API’s.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

 

The base salary in the United States is $135,000 to $148,000. The OTE is up to $185,000.
