Why Midnite?

Midnite is a next-generation betting platform that is built for today’s fandom. We are a collective of engineers and designers who all share a passion for building the best sportsbook & casino experience possible, allowing our fans to feel closer to the games they love through the rush of winning money.

Unlike the alternatives, Midnite doesn't feel like a website built two decades ago. Instead, it's a cutting-edge creation, designed and constructed from the ground up with the latest technologies. Crafting an experience that's truly intuitive, immersive, and immediately understandable is no walk in the park, but we thrive on the challenge. We believe we're on the brink of creating something truly awesome.

About the role

The Safer Gambling Manager plays a crucial role within the Compliance Team, taking the lead in shaping, managing, and evolving our safer gambling (SG) operations. This role is at the heart of delivering Midnite’s commitment to ensuring a safe and responsible gaming environment.

As the Safer Gambling Manager, you will spearhead the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of our SG controls, ensuring they remain robust and effective. You’ll oversee the operational SG teams, driving their day-to-day activities while also providing strategic regulatory guidance across the business on key issues related to safer gambling and player protection.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding customers who display signs of problem gambling and ensuring they receive the necessary protection.
  • Leading and managing all SG operations, from strategy to execution.
  • Developing, refining, and enhancing SG controls to ensure they are continuously improving.
  • Evaluating customer interactions and analyzing the effectiveness of SG tools and strategies.
  • Training, coaching, and mentoring a growing team of SG analysts across multiple regions.
  • Guiding the team in effectively using back-office tools and alerts to conduct thorough SG reviews while ensuring a seamless customer journey.
  • Reviewing customer accounts to assess potential signs of problem gambling.
  • Conducting risk profiling and evaluating customer activities and transactions.
  • Engaging with customers via phone, live chat, and email when signs of excessive participation or other key indicators arise.
  • Handling customer interactions after significant wins or in cases flagged by our “Top Customers” processes.
  • Managing interactions for accounts presenting strong risk indicators, including potential threats of harm.
  • Offering expert advice to analysts on escalating high-risk cases.
  • Collaborating closely with the Player Experience and Anti-Financial Crime teams to assess customer profiles at risk of gambling-related issues.
  • Partnering with the Growth team on Safer Gambling campaigns to promote responsible gaming.
  • Using data and reports to spot trends and limit potentially harmful behaviors before they escalate.
  • Monitoring customers for SG concerns and raising any issues to the Head of Compliance as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance by regularly reviewing and updating SG-related policies, procedures, and customer interaction processes.
  • Documenting findings in a centralized control system, updating customer risk profiles, and ensuring all member accounts are accurately noted.
  • Escalating suspicious transactions or activities to the MLRO or DMLRO for further investigation.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to share insights, best practices, and implement new processes that strengthen our SG framework.

Requirements

    • A minimum of three years of hands-on experience working for a gambling operator licensed by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain, with a focus on SG and/or player protection at a strategic level.
    • In-depth knowledge of the LCCP and relevant regulatory guidance on customer interaction strategies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
    • Proven ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in team management.

Desirables

  • Proven ability to successfully navigate regulatory assessments with confidence and precision.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and driving meaningful improvements based on findings.
  • Hands-on experience translating regulatory changes into actionable compliance frameworks.

  • Skilled in interviewing candidates across globally distributed teams, ensuring a thorough and effective process.
