We want people who are passionate high performing team players who can take new challenges and go the extra mile.

The Senior Revenue Assurance Analyst will assist in developing and implementing a new revenue assurance function at DigitalOcean. This role will work collaboratively with Product, Engineering, Internal Audit, and Accounting teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the company’s revenue and related transactions such as cash collections, credits, discounts, and taxes. We only hire the best to these teams, and your work will have a direct impact on the future success of this rapidly growing company.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As the first member of this new function you will:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls within OTC and make recommendations to management as appropriate.
  • Collaborate and/or integrate with stakeholders in product and engineering functions to risk assess new product development or changes for impact to billing, revenue, and related accounts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain additional audits, controls, KPI trends, and ad-hoc analyses to identify gaps in the completeness and accuracy of revenue and related transactions. You will design and conduct highly technical esoteric analysis of high volumes of billing system data including subscription-based, usage-based, and hybrid revenue models.
  • As necessary, provide project management capacity in support of company objectives or deliverables within the scope of the revenue assurance function.
  • As a stretch goal, contribute to, or lead and maintain, development of Internal Audit automated control testing suite for OTC and other business processes.
  • Embody all company values in your work including but not limited to:
    • DO BOLD: We think big, bold, and scrappy.
    • DO FAST: We operate with a bias for action.

What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of modern IT practices, including cloud software application development and infrastructure, databases, APIs, distributed event streaming, engineering change management, and risk assessment approaches for internally-developed product and billing platforms.
  • Data analytics skills with experience in using Google Data Studio, Power BI, Looker, Tableau, SQL or equivalent - experience both in querying data and visualizing data using one of these tools is required. Ability or willingness to work with and/or understand scripting languages (e.g. Python, Go) in conjunction with delivering assigned work.
  • Proven understanding of concepts related to ITGCs, IT application controls, and modern technology risks.
  • Experience working with publicly traded High Growth or Technology companies.

Role Requirements:
