Senior Research Scientist

What you will be doing:
This position is responsible for working with the research team and providing support for the conduction and coordination of research and analytic projects for Premier Applied Sciences. This position has responsibilities for designing, implementing and managing research projects in areas such as literature review, market and trend analysis, outcomes and cost analysis using different data sources.
This position also functions internally in collaboration with other Premier stakeholders to ensure required deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development - 20%
• Background and literature review and write up for descriptive, trend analysis, retrospective outcomes and comparative effectiveness studies.
• Feasibility requests including scope development and review of code and results
• Participate and lead research customer calls to understand scope of work needed
• Aid Principal Research Scientist with writing and/or review of proposals for more complex research studies
• Develop selection criteria for research projects and data extracts with customers
• Mentor Research Scientist
Analysis and interpretation - 30%
• Perform unadjusted statistical analysis and initial interpretation
• Perform adjusted statistical analysis and initial interpretation
Protocol and analytic plan development – 25%
• Background and literature review and writeup
• Development of table shells
• Aid Principal Research Scientist with writing and review of protocols/statistical analysis plan
Report Development – 15%
Work independently or with Principal Research Scientist to support report development to include:
Background
Results
Conclusion/Discussion
Publications – 10%
Work with Principal Research Scientist, and Medical Writers on development and review of publications to include:
o Conference abstracts
o Presentations (Posters/Presentations)
o Manuscripts
Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more yearsEducation:
Masters (Required)
Preferred Qualifications
Skills:
• Intermediate or advanced experience with utilizing large claims or hospital administrative databases
• Advanced knowledge in development and execution of research projects in health economics and outcomes, epidemiology, and clinical studies.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge in research methods and biostatistics
Experience:
• Excellent writing skills with prior authorship of manuscripts focused on healthcare research
Education:
MD, PhD, PharmD
