Senior Project Manager

 Humana is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team. The Senior Project Manager manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, and works to drive on-time and on-budget projects. The Senior Project Manager works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial in a fast-paced, matrix organization. Join this dedicated team and lead change in how health care for the underserved in Wisconsin is managed.

• Designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project.
• Monitors progress and performance against the project plan
• Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
• Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project.
• Prepares designs and work specifications.
• Develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts, selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.  
• Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.
• Conducts meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project.
• Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
• Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
• Influences department’s strategy.
• Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Five (5) years of experience managing business projects.
• Two (2) years of experience in Health Plan Operations, Healthcare, or Long-Term Care business systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Wisconsin Health Plan Operations, Healthcare, or Long-Term Care business systems.
• Six Sigma and/or Project Management Institute certification.
• Experience working with IT professionals.

Additional Information

• Workstyle: Home. Home workstyle is defined as remote but will use Humana/iCare office space on an as needed basis for collaboration and other face-to-face needs.  
• Travel: May require coming into Humana's WI Market office locations on occasion.
• Typical Work Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Central Standard Time (CST).
