A Senior Project Manager leads complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. They excel in project planning, team leadership, risk management, and quality assurance. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, they maintain clear communication with clients and executives, using project management tools to track progress and generate reports. Their strong financial acumen ensures meticulous budget management, while their adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement drive project and organisational success.

The role is fully remote, but you’ll have flexibility to mix working remotely with trips to our collaborative offices based in Chippenham, Swindon, Chester and Plymouth.

Location

Fully remote working environment with travel on occasion required to our collaborative offices in Swindon, Chester and Plymouth along with occasional visits to client sites to provide consultancy, implementation, sales support and other business critical activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that outline objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables ensuring they are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, allocation, control and monitor and report on financial performance, ensuring projects are completed within budgets.
  • Lead, mentor and manage project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure project objectives are met facilitating effective communication across teams multi-disciplined teams and stakeholders,
  • Identify and monitor potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Align to business best practices, following projects and quality processes and conduct regular reviews to maintain optimised processes and methodologies.
  • Allocate and manage project resources, optimising utilisation and address any resource-related issues in a timely fashion.
  • Define and track project performance against KPIs and project objectives delivering internal and external reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage project changes, including scope, schedule and budget adjustments ensuring that all changes are evaluated, approved and scheduled appropriately.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project management, maintaining project documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in project and programme management.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Experience in coordinating efforts across multiple departments and managing diverse teams.
  • Proven experience in engaging with and managing stakeholders, including clients, senior executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Significant experience in managing change, whether that is time, scope or budget.
  • Significant experience in identifying, assessing, and managing project risks and issues.

Skills

  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Dynamic people and client-handling skills to ensure that an efficient working environment is maintained at all times and that any conflict is handled appropriately.
  • Cultivating a professional and curious demeanor, proactively involving, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Working within the software development lifecycle using Agile and other methodologies.
  • Experience of writing Technical Documentation and best practice guides.
  • Experience of working within a Quality System.

Remuneration

  • Salary £50,000 - £60,000 subject to skills and experience
  • Benefits (some applicable after 6 months’ probation):

    Contributary Pension 5%.

    25 days annual leave, scaling to 27 days for 2-4 years’ service, 28 days for 4+ years.
