Job Title: Project Manager – Vendor Platform Implementation

Location: 300 W 15th Street, Austin, TX 78701 (Hybrid – On-Site & Telework)
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (excluding State holidays). Occasional evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
Start Date: April 21, 2025
End Date: August 31, 2026 (with potential for extension)
Estimated Hours: 2000 hours
Compensation: $150,000 - negotiable based on experience, certifications, education - W2 (NO C2C option) 
Travel: Pre-approved travel expenses covered by OAG, in compliance with State of Texas travel policies.

Job Description

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the coordination and implementation of a new vendor platform. This role will require excellent project management, technical coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure a smooth onboarding process. The Project Manager will work closely with the vendor, stakeholders, and OAG leadership to facilitate integration efforts, troubleshoot technical challenges, and maintain clear communication throughout the implementation process. Success in this role will require adaptability, proactive planning, and strong problem-solving skills in managing the technical environments across various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Coordination & Implementation Support:
    Serve as the primary point of contact between OAG and the vendor during platform onboarding. Assist the vendor in gathering requirements, troubleshooting, and refining processes for county onboarding.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Coordinate with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations, and regular meetings to track progress. Document technical resources, system capabilities, and relevant contacts.

  • Technical Integration & Platform Interfacing:
    Support stakeholders in integrating with the new platform, which may include file uploads, configuring settings, or using APIs. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure compatibility with existing systems and ensure adherence to data formats, transmission methods, and security protocols.

  • Project Coordination & Execution:
    Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking milestones, timelines, and risks. Coordinate testing, training, and knowledge transfer activities to ensure effective platform adoption.

  • Process Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain comprehensive documentation of the onboarding process, technical workflows, and configurations. Provide regular project status reports, addressing key decisions, risks, and ongoing issues.

  • Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting:
    Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the vendor to resolve technical challenges. Facilitate troubleshooting sessions and document resolutions for recurring issues.

  • Change Management & Communication:
    Develop clear communication plans to keep stakeholders informed about changes and expectations. Support stakeholders in adapting to new processes and ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience managing large-scale IT projects, preferably in government or public-sector environments.

  • 8+ years of experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and integration efforts.

  • 8+ years of experience developing and executing project plans, managing timelines, and mitigating risks.

  • 8+ years of experience engaging and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies and external vendors.

  • 5+ years of experience conducting meetings, training sessions, and status updates with stakeholders at various levels.

  • 5+ years of experience working with data exchange methods, including file uploads, APIs, and system integrations.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of providing clear guidance, reports, and documentation.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in complex multi-vendor or multi-team IT environments.

  • 5+ years of experience managing public-sector IT projects, especially those involving large-scale system rollouts.

  • Knowledge of government regulations and security compliance (FISMA, HIPAA, etc.).
