What you’ll be doing
As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for defining and leading the scope of work within your assigned contract or package, ensuring seamless integration with other programme elements. You will maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and implement project strategies to drive successful delivery. Your role will involve closely monitoring project progress, tracking milestones, deadlines, and budgets while providing key stakeholders with regular updates. A strong focus on safety, quality, and technical excellence will be essential in achieving project objectives.
In this role, you will proactively identify and manage risks, resolve project issues, and escalate concerns to the Delivery Manager when necessary. You will oversee the development and maintenance of schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines, and apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to track performance. With a commitment to continuous improvement, you will interface with other programmes to ensure best practices are implemented, contributing to the overall success of the project.
Who you are
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in delivering projects within complex and highly regulated environments, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar industries. A degree in engineering, construction, or a related field, with a professional qualification in Project Management (such as APM PPQ or equivalent). You will have experience managing engineering design, procurement, and execution strategies for multi-discipline EPCM projects, including contract management, cost control, risk management, scheduling, and Earned Value analysis. Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with experience in overseeing contractors, consultants, and advisors on large-scale construction projects under NEC and FIDIC contracts.
You will demonstrate expertise in project financial management, change management, and facilitation, with proficiency in estimating, scheduling, and risk assessment tools. A thorough understanding of EPR design, CDM Regulations, and full project lifecycle management from concept to handover. Strong communication and organisational skills will be key to building effective relationships and networks, ensuring seamless project execution while maintaining the highest levels of safety, security, and environmental responsibility.
