Acentra seeks a Senior Programmer - Architect to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sr. Health Intelligence Programmer / Data Architect with a strong background in AWS cloud technologies, data transformation, and data modeling. The candidate will play a key role in migrating and optimizing our data infrastructure to AWS, while also enhancing and maintaining core data processing platforms. This role is crucial in driving business solutions by building data models and actionable reporting, with a focus on leveraging AWS resources for advanced analytics.

*Position is remote within the United States.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the migration and optimization of data platforms to AWS, leveraging AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, and Lambda.
  • Query and analyze existing databases to pull data necessary for reporting and transformation.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable data processing platforms in AWS.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
  • Architect and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS tools for data modeling and advanced analytics.
  • Optimize and debug complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and AWS data transformation tools.
  • Research data discrepancies and troubleshoot AWS data services, SQL queries, SSIS packages, views, and stored procedures.
  • Create and implement new database objects and data models through scripting in an AWS environment.
  • Mentor junior programmers and serve as a subject matter expert in AWS data architecture.
  • Design and develop complex queries, ETL jobs, and data transformation workflows to support business intelligence.

Requirements

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Services Research, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Expertise in AWS services, including but not limited to S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, RDS, and other AWS data-related resources.
  • Strong background in business intelligence and data warehousing methodologies.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with SQL, database programming, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud architecture and tools for data processing and analytics.
  • Experience with data modeling, data transformation, and pipeline development in AWS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL tools (SSMS, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS).
  • Strong understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
  • Extensive experience creating database tables, views, complex stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
  • Advanced skills in SQL query fine-tuning, stored program optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience in agile development environments.
  • Strong skills in gathering and documenting requirements.
  • Prior experience with healthcare claim and utilization management data is highly desirable.

 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Familiarity with Visual Studio and TFS/Azure DevOps for source control.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Jira.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $70,000-120,000.

“Based on our compensation philosophy, an applicant’s placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.”
