Rail Program Director - Infrastructure - Rail and Transit - US Western Region
Opportunity :
Are you accomplished in turnkey delivery of rail projects and programs in the transportation area? Have you delivered these programs? If so, Parsons is seeking a Rail Program Director to join our team.
The selected person will be responsible for project management and technical leadership of rail projects in the Northwest Region including Washington and Oregon. Experience with rail transit systems is preferred. Your time will also be spent developing key relationships, developing proposal strategies and managing project staff. Our portfolio includes some of the most notable projects and clients in the US and our continued success in delivering their vision depends greatly on this important position. This position is preferred to be based in Seattle, Washington or Denver CO. Candidates with demonstrated depth of experience with large urban rail and transit systems from outside of Washington and Colorado are encouraged to apply as well !
Responsibilities:
- Manages rail projects to ensure client satisfaction while adhering to schedule, budget, contract, Parsons corporate and other requirements.
- Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems, and identifies project opportunities, particularly in the regional Rail market.
- Works closely with other regional leaders to collaborate on current project resourcing and strategies for upcoming key pursuits.
- Works closely with marketing teams to prepare for upcoming proposal responses both in creating teams and client engagement.
- Reviews and evaluates contracts, appropriations, and expenditure requests submitted by subordinates.
- Ensures that project teams are efficiently planned and adequately staffed.
- Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and scope for the various elements of a project. Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
- Works with the key project individual(s) to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes.
- Promotes technical and commercial excellence on projects through application of Quality Assurance processes. Establishes regular meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
- Contributes on active project work in any role that may be appropriate.
- Participates in and provides recommendations on staff development reviews.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field is required. Master’s Degree is highly desirable.
- 20 years or more of experience in a design or management role on rail/transit projects.
- Colorado, Oregon or Washington PE is highly preferred, or ability to obtain one 6-12 months from point of hire.
- Experience in project management and/or engineering management focused on state of good repair, signaling systems, track alignment, passenger rail stations, storage and maintenance rail yards, and transportation tunnels.
- Considerable experience in client management.
