As Senior Product Manager, you will envision, define, manage, and launch key product features at Faro. You’ll engage with our clinical team as well as external customers to understand their needs and gather ideas, insights and requirements from a variety of sources. You’ll survey the competitive landscape for ideas, synthesize business and user needs into product concepts, functional requirements, and feature roadmaps, gaining buy-in from key executive and customer stakeholders. You will lead a cross functional team of designers, engineers, project managers, and clinical team stakeholders to design and develop features that meet these needs and fulfill the functional requirements. You’ll also work with our Professional Services team to plan and execute successful implementations of new product features, track their adoption, and come up with insights based on surveys and product usage data.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the ideation, definition, and execution of key features in Faro’s core Study Designer product and its associated systems, delivering on an ambitious roadmap for product development that delivers real business value in an innovative way
- Mentor and support junior product managers and other team members, build productive working relationships with and inspire engineers, UX designers, QA, devops, and the rest of the cross-functional product team
- Drive the product feature release plans with detailed schedules, phases, milestones, and launch dates
- Gather and synthesize user feedback and insights into actionable product requirements, user stories, and product specifications
- Formulate, track, analyze, and communicate metrics to guide product success and evolution, ensuring applications provide value and exceptional user experience
- Deeply understand the clinical development process and its challenges and pain points, maintain an objective view of competitors’ capabilities, industry trends, current research, and continually ideate new product concepts so that Faro maintains its innovative edge
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in physical or life sciences, statistics or computer science disciplines
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a Product Manager role at high performing technology organizations, launching features and products that have found distribution or commercial success.
- A technical background ideally with some coding experience, giving the ability to work productively with engineering teams and have meaningful conversations with our partner developers.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly gain domain expertise in new industries and standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex requirements and translate into actionable steps and impactful product concepts and features.
- Effective and inclusive project management expertise; planning, executing, and tracking data projects effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; clearly conveying complex concepts and information to both technical and non-technical audiences within and outside the organization, in both live presentations and written form.
- 3+ years working with life science companies with a demonstrated understanding of clinical drug development processes, technologies, and strategy and roadmap development
- Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, platforms, and tools and their application to real world problems is a plus
- Travel up to 25% to our office in San Diego required
Benefits
Annual salary
- The expected salary range for this position is $149,000 - $185,000
- Salary listed reflects the base salary only and does not include other elements of total compensation
- Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
Equity
In addition to this position's salary (listed above), equity will be a major component of the total compensation for this position. We aim to offer higher-than-average equity compensation for a company of our size, and communicate equity amounts at the time of offer issuance.
