About Minoan:

Minoan is a company at the frontier of a new way to shop — one we call “Native Retail.”

Have you ever stayed at a hotel and fallen in love with the soaps or shampoos? Maybe you had the best sleep of your life and wanted to know where you could get the mattress. Or maybe you were at your friend’s house and LOVED their speaker system, their coffee maker, or even their plants.

This is “Native Retail.” It’s about discovering products you love “in the wild” in environments where products are being used for what they are designed to do. In Native Retail, products aren’t boxed up in a display case like they are in stores, and they're not hiding behind clever merchandising on a phone screen like they are in e-commerce. There’s no salesperson over your shoulder or chat popup at the bottom of your screen — it’s just you and the product in a moment of real use. We believe these special moments are the future of retail.

At Minoan, we’re building a platform that’s connecting spaces, brands, and consumers to bring these moments to life. Tens of thousands of design-oriented hospitality partners use Minoan to manage their procurement across 150+ incredible brands (think West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Casper, Parachute, Dyson, Article, Apotheke, etc.) and also use Minoan to turn their spaces into immersive, shoppable showrooms. It’s a big, bold idea and it will take an army of intelligent, tough, ambitious, optimistic, and curious people to get there.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who is ready for a new challenge and will enjoy the impact that comes with joining a fast-growing startup. As just the third person on our Product team, you will be responsible for owning and leading initiatives across Minoan’s entire product offering. This role will primarily focus on driving the product direction for our property-facing Retail Platform, with additional contributions to our internal Order Management System and guest-facing Shoppable Showrooms. This role will report directly to our Head of Product and will have an outsized impact on setting our future product direction and helping the company achieve our vision.

The role is based in NYC, where our company is headquartered and most of our employees reside. However, this position is remote, and working hours are expected to align with Eastern Time.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with our Head of Product to shape the overall product strategy, roadmap, and team processes.

  • Gain a well-rounded understanding of all of Minoan’s products and technology, eventually owning and leading one or more product areas.

  • Deeply understand our customers’ and internal stakeholders’ needs, use cases, and pain points and use that knowledge to effectively prioritize, design, and build innovative solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, growth, operations, and marketing to execute product initiatives.

  • Partner with design to develop beautiful and functional product solutions that meet and exceed the needs of our customers.

  • Write detailed product documentation including specifications, process flows, and data models to define product scope for engineering and business stakeholders.

  • Work with engineering on a daily basis to ensure product requirements are understood, roadblocks are being removed, features are being thoroughly tested, and deployments happen as scheduled.

  • Define success metrics, build dashboards and reporting, and interpret the data into actionable insights.

  • Communicate progress internally across project phases, proactively alerting the team to any changes in scope or timelines.

  • Drive impact across our entire organization – as an early member of a small tight-knit team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to meaningfully contribute to our company culture.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Product experience: You have 3+ years of product experience with a track record of leading and influencing cross-functional teams to deliver ambitious 0-to-1 projects.

  • Business acumen: You enjoy diving into the details of how a business works, identifying how to make it better, and building product/technical solutions to do so.

  • Analytical horsepower: You use your Excel and/or SQL skills to dig deep into the data and pull out insights to shape your decisions.

  • Technical savvy: You have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of your products and consider engineering constraints/tradeoffs when designing front end and backend solutions.

  • Strong communication: You are comfortable and effective when communicating complex ideas to a wide variety of audiences, including engineers, management, and customers.

  • Results mindset: You are highly organized, proactive, and reliable. Your bias to action and attention to detail ensures you continually execute at a high level.

  • Fun personality: You bring positive energy to the team and are a joy to work with.

  • Nice to have:

    • Experience building products in retail, hospitality, advertising, or B2B SaaS.

    • Experience working with an offshore engineering team.

    • Experience owning or operating a short-term rental.

What We Offer:

  • An opportunity to help shape the future of retail.

  • A fun, transparent, and collaborative company culture.

  • A challenging and fast-paced environment to grow and learn faster than you would elsewhere.

  • Regular team offsites to meet up in person (recent trips include Austin, Scottsdale, and NYC).

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package including flexible PTO, health/vision/dental coverage, 401(k), paid parental leave, and generous equity.

  • WFH office and equipment compensation up to $1,000.

  • Free Minoan membership (access to discounts on 150+ brands).
