Due to business growth, an opportunity has been created for an experienced Senior Product Director. In this role, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing the product strategy for our Employee Products - with a critical emphasis on app-first solutions - and our Merchant Products. You will oversee the Employee (App-first) and Merchant Product cluster, focusing on delivering exceptional experiences across both web and mobile platforms for employees and innovative solutions for our merchant partners.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Client Success, to drive product innovation and ensure alignment with our business objectives. Responsibilities and Core Duties:
Strategic Leadership:- Develop and execute the product vision and strategy for Employee Products (app and web)with an app-first focus and for Merchant Products.
- Align product roadmaps with company objectives, ensuring a cohesive approach across clusters.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth and innovation within these product domains.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Directors of Product and their teams within the Employee and Merchant Product clusters.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Encourage teams to prioritise app development while maintaining excellence in web products.
- Champion the development of app-first Employee Products, ensuring our mobile solutions deliver outstanding user experiences.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in mobile technology and user experience to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure seamless integration between app and web platforms to provide a consistent user experience.
- Establish and promote cross-functional collaboration processes with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and other departments.
- Manage expectations with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, clients, and partners.
- Drive a market-focused culture by informing teams about market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Oversee the development of comprehensive research programs and utilise insights to guide product strategy.
- Own the economic outcomes for the Employee Products (app and web) and Merchant Products, driving revenue growth and profitability.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions that positively impact key business metrics.
- Identify opportunities to increase app adoption and engagement among users.
- Implement and refine processes for continuous delivery, measurement, and learning within your product clusters.
- Encourage the adoption of best practices in product development, agile methodologies, and app development lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing updates on product progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and merchant partners.
- Advocate for the importance of app-first strategies within the organisation.
Experience and Key Skills:
Core experience- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple product teams or clusters.
- Proven track record of driving significant business growth through strategic product leadership.
- Experience collaborating with executive leadership to shape company strategy.
- 4+ years of experience in successfully launching and scaling consumer-grade, highly rated (4.5+), highly downloaded (5+ million downloads) app products alongside web platforms
- 2+ years of experience managing complex product portfolios in both B2C (Employee Products) and B2B (Merchant Products) contexts.
- Deep understanding of mobile platforms, app development, and web technologies.
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities unique to app-first product strategies.
- Ability to balance resources and priorities between app and web product development.
- Exceptional people management abilities, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong mentorship skills with a focus on developing future product leaders.
- Ability to inspire and motivate teams toward a shared vision and common goals, especially in-app innovation.
- Expertise in market research, user insights, and business strategy at an organisational level.
- Ability to anticipate market trends and steer the organisation toward new opportunities.
- Deep understanding of mobile and related cutting-edge technology trends, that can transform businesses against competitors
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis - particularly in-app engagement metrics -to drive decision-making and measure product success,
- Ability to oversee complex research programs and synthesise insights into strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in presenting to executive leadership, boards, and external partners.
- Innovative thinker with a track record of driving change and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead the organisation through transformation.
