About the Role
As a Senior Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a Security Focus, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure and services. You will lead initiatives in security automation, threat detection, incident response, and compliance, working closely with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to build highly resilient and secure systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Lead security-focused SRE initiatives, including secure CI/CD pipelines, automated vulnerability management, and threat modeling.
• Develop security automation tools to detect and mitigate security risks proactively.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate Zero Trust Architecture, IAM best practices, and least privilege principles across infrastructure.
• Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and security posture using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and security analytics tools.
• Enhance incident response and forensics capabilities, ensuring rapid detection, response, and recovery from security threats.
• Implement secure logging, monitoring, and anomaly detection for cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes).
• Automate security policy enforcement and compliance monitoring (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Drive chaos engineering and resilience testing to validate system security and failure recovery mechanisms.
• Mentor and guide SRE and security engineers in best practices for secure infrastructure and operational excellence.

Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Security Engineering, with at least 3+ years in a security-focused role.
• Strong background in cloud security, infrastructure as code (IaC), and container security.
• Expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD security (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Proficiency in cloud security tools such as AWS Security Hub, GCP Security Command Center, or Azure Defender.
• Deep understanding of encryption, identity & access management (IAM), secrets management, and network security.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning, and log analysis.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and security tooling.
• Experience conducting security incident response, forensic analysis, and post-mortems.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS Benchmarks) and compliance standards.

Salary Range:

-The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $165,000 and $225,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
