Senior Prescribing Pharmacist

We’re looking for a Senior Prescribing Pharmacist with significant digital health prescribing experience to join Phlo’s growing clinical services team. This is a permanent role where you’ll have significant influence over our prescribing strategy and clinical operations. As a senior leader within a rapidly scaling digital pharmacy, you will collaborate closely with Phlo’s Chief Pharmacist, Superintendent Pharmacist, Medical Director, and CQC Registered Manager, as well as our technology, marketing, and product development teams. 

Your advanced clinical expertise, combined with prescribing experience, will help shape the future of our prescribing services, positioning Phlo at the forefront of digital healthcare. You’ll play a key role in the evolution of our clinical governance framework, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of patient care and compliance. 

While this role is predominantly remote, you’ll occasionally attend in-person sessions in either London or Manchester (with travel covered).  

We are open to full-time and part-time applicants however we are not looking for prescribers who are working a portfolio career across a range of providers. Openness to weekend-working either on a permanent or rota basis is also desirable. 

Requirements

As a Senior Prescribing Pharmacist, you will be responsible for: 

• Delivering prescribing services to patients in accordance with agreed clinical guidelines, pathways and protocols. 
• Taking ownership of and driving improvements in the prescribing processes, ensuring best practices in clinical governance and patient safety. 
• Working with the clinical leadership team to develop and implement clinical pathways, while continuously improving current clinical protocols based on evidence-based practices. 
• Mentoring and supporting the development of junior prescribers and clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. 
• Prescribing and reviewing medications for therapeutic effectiveness, while ensuring compliance with national guidelines and internal protocols. 
• Actively contributing to clinical governance meetings, providing insights into prescribing trends and opportunities for innovation. 
• Engaging with patients to support adherence to treatment plans and providing expert clinical advice to enhance the patient experience, acting as a point of contact with the Patient Care Team 

The Person

We’re looking for a senior clinician with the following qualifications and experience: 

• GPhC registered Pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber qualification (essential)
• Extensive experience as an Independent Prescriber, ideally within digital healthcare or a tech-enabled environment (essential) 
• Experience in prescribing within weight-loss, diabetes or endocrine (strongly preferred) 
• Exceptional understanding of clinical governance and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and care 
• Comfortable working autonomously, managing your workload, and making decisions in a fast-paced environment. 
• A strategic thinker, eager to influence the future direction of a high-growth digital healthcare company. 
• Experience in shaping prescribing services or healthcare policies would be highly advantageous.
