 A Network Services Delivery Engineer will be a resource as it relates to network device compliancy and network lifecycle management efforts. This resource will also be involved with the successful generation, delivery, and reporting of network-related projects. This role involves defining project scopes, ensuring timely and efficient project execution, and providing detailed progress reports to customers. This resource will also identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities, maintain an accurate inventory of network assets, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Additionally, the engineer generates standard operating procedures, mentors junior engineers, and ensures robust security measures are in place. Biweekly progress reports cover the current state of the environment, updates, compliance activities, and inventory status.

The Senior Network Engineer develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities. Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine impact on network capacity and development plan projections. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of network systems, from initial planning and design through implementation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning.
  • Lifecycle Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize network performance and capacity throughout its lifecycle to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that network solutions comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Implementation: Oversee the deployment and integration of network solutions, ensuring they align with project requirements and timelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and project progress.
  • Process Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation to ensure consistency and quality in network delivery.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical expertise.
  • Performance Evaluation: Develop and evaluate network performance criteria and measurement methods to ensure optimal operation.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze short-term and long-term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Network Lifecycle Management: Expertise in managing the entire lifecycle of network systems, from planning and design to decommissioning.
  • Process Documentation: Proficiency in creating and maintaining detailed process documentation
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of network technologies, including switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing network projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Mentorship: Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze network performance and capacity needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve network issues efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and document network configurations and changes.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in a rapidly evolving field.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$95,300 - $131,200 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
