We're looking for a Senior Marketing Operations Strategist to drive scalable marketing programs through data-driven insights, automation, and process optimization. In this role, you'll own campaign execution workflows, enhance our marketing tech stack, and ensure accurate performance tracking to fuel growth. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to generate, track, and convert high-quality leads efficiently. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including demand generation, customer marketing and sales operations, while reporting to the Manager, Marketing Operations.
Your goal will be to optimize and streamline marketing operations, leveraging technology and data to drive efficiency, improve campaign performance, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:
- Collaborate with the Marketing Ops Manager to manage and optimize the marketing tech stack. This includes the integration of new tools and technologies to enhance the marketing operations function. Provide training and support to other team members on marketing operations best practices, systems, and tools.
- Lead the strategy, execution and optimization of marketing campaign operations to achieve the campaign goals.
- Work to enhance segmentation in collaboration with email and campaign managers to ensure targeted and timely messaging that drives conversion.
- Partner with the Sales Operations team and other Marketing Operations team members to optimize our marketing-to-sales lead handoff, including lead scoring, lead data ingestion and routing, lead source reporting etc.
- Monitor all customer communications being sent through marketing tools to identify gaps in alignment and areas of opportunity.
- Partner with the broader GTM team to align on campaign strategy, identify operational bottlenecks, and improve processes. Provide guidance on best practices for marketing systems, technology stack, and workflows.
- Assist in creating and maintaining internal marketing documentation for processes and programs as needed.
- Ensure ongoing database cleanliness by implementing and enforcing best practices for data hygiene. Regularly review and clean up marketing databases to maintain accurate, up-to-date, and high-quality contact information, improving segmentation, personalization, and overall campaign effectiveness.
- Analyze marketing data and provide actionable insights to optimize campaign performance.
The person we have in mind likely:
- 3+ years of experience in a Marketing Operations role, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Strong expertise with marketing automation platforms like HubSpot or Marketo, including setup, management, and optimization.
- Experience implementing and optimizing campaign workflows, and lifecycle tracking to support demand generation efforts.
- Excellent communication and project management skills to work effectively across marketing, sales, and operations teams.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and marketing analytics to track performance and drive data-driven decisions.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, improve marketing processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance best practices (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business
These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:
- Experience building and maintaining lead scoring systems.
- Experience with API integrations to connect marketing automation platforms with other tools.
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools like Looker, Tableau, or similar for deeper data analysis.
- Basic HTML and CSS skills for email customization.
The typical hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 CAD. Your specific compensation is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
