Summary

Save the Children is seeking a Senior Managing Director, Program Implementation. In this role, you will serve as a deputy leader to the Head of Program Implementation and oversee program operations for a portfolio of states, as well as programs supporting children arriving at the US Southern Border. You will hold yourself and your teams accountable for the development and execution of effective programs, advocacy and fundraising strategies and demonstrating Save the Childrenā€™s core values. Serving as a national-level representative of Save the Childrenā€™s work in rural America, you will oversee and directly engage in activities that strengthen and expand partnerships across multiple sectors, and position our organization as a key program provider, partner, thought-leader and advocate.

What Youā€™ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Ensure that State strategies and programs are aligned and in support of Divisional 2025-2027 strategic objectives (50%)

  • Ensure states under your purview in the Western United States are pivoting from a program-centric framework toward building whole community strategies that align resources and drive systems change.
  • Accountable for ensuring achievement of all project deliverables, annual goals, and long-term strategic objectives under the scope of, or assigned to, your states.
  • Monitor programs and services across multiple states to guarantee they are implemented with excellence; ensuring partner needs are assessed annually, services are adapted for the needs of the community, training and technical assistance is effective and responsive, and improvements to program quality and data management are made, as needed.
  • Ensure that all programs are culturally adapted where possible and needed.
  • Ensure that programs are safe for children and that Child Safeguarding efforts are done successfully by promoting awareness and prevention to mitigate the risk of, or actual, harm that may come to children by representatives across all programming, operations, campaigns, and activities.
  • Inform and execute multi-state fundraising activities in partnership with division and agency fundraising teams; co-developing strategies for acquiring funds or gifts-in-kind, prospecting for opportunities, cultivating donor relationships, and supporting the development of proposals and reports.

Ensure success and growth of US Southern Border Programs (15%)

  • Accountable for ensuring achievement of all project deliverables, annual goals, and long-term strategic objectives under the scope of our US Southern Border work
  • Support intentional coordination across Save the Children members supporting children on the move to the US.
