Job Details

Under the general direction of the director, the Sr. Manager designs, implements, inspects, manages, tests, and supports software/systems/hardware/ WCS solutions, and implementations in the Material Handling domain that form Cencora’s key business operations. This role performs in a support role to sustain the solution after implementation.

• Leads the Project Teams with implementation, functional specifications, interface specification, testing, issue tracking, and trend analysis.
• Leads corporate and/or division MHE enhancement projects with evaluations, implementation plans, testing, documentation, delivery, deployment for project software/systems/hardware/equipment, and project closeout.
• Leads a team of Software Engineers on various aspects of Material Handling solutions.
• Leads with training and support of automated Material Handling solutions.
• Participates in the design, development, testing, and implementation of technologies to best meet the organization's cybersecurity needs.
• Leads with preparation of preliminary user requirements as well as, WCS support/modifications and documentation materials for all division systems.
• Leads in the development and rollout of training programs and materials that will assist the end-users and customers in better utilizing new or enhanced applications.
• Assists with business intelligence initiatives and projects.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary to support division processing.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Education:

Normally requires a strong understanding of PLC (Program Logic Controller) solutions and Software solutions.

Normally requires some training in fields such as business, project management, administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Normally requires a minimum of eight (8) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of vendor interfaces and networking preferred
• Previous experience with Warehouse Material Handling and Automation Systems
• Detailed knowledge of applicable programming languages
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate and modify vendor PLC messaging, conveyor software/hardware, business problems and apply applications knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and associated tool usage
• Good interpersonal skills; effective team player
• Ability to write functional and technical specifications
• Demonstrated strong issue resolution, analytical and problem solving skills, including debugging MHE, automation, conveyor and PLC vendor code and messaging.
• Strong decision making skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task several initiatives, production issues, etc. while meeting committed development delivery dates and managing individuals/teams as required
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels within the organization (VPDCMs, IT/IBM resources, vendor support, warehouse supervisors, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
• Lean Sigma skills preferred
• Proficient with MS Office suite of products, mainly Excel and/or Access
• Willing to travel up to 50% of the time

Salary Range*

$98,200 - 151,360

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
